Restrict background data on Samsung Galaxy 3

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am loosing the majority of data through the phone syncing and updating apps in the background. There is an option to "Restrict background data" but when i try to select it it says "Restricting background data is only possible when you have set the mobile data limit" i have googled this and again the only way to do it is grey and impossible to turn on.

Please help - its a waste of money and frustrating that even whem following instructions i'm not succeeding!

Thank you kindly.

Restricting background data in the way you're thinking won't help you. Go into Accounts & Sync and turn off sync settings. This way your apps will only update when you select a mamual sync.
