New phone language is Japanese

Just received my new Android Xperia XA1 and the language is in Japanese.  I need it to be in English. Can anyone help please?

It was made in Japan I guess!

I don't think the Sony Xperia XA1 is made in Japan though. Most probably it was purchased in Japan.

Anyway, shouldn't be in Japanese, it should have language set according to the firmware customisation installed on it.
If bought from o2, the firmware will be in English default as that's what they test and forward for installation.
Could be a bug, could be other.
As long as customisation numbers match up, it should be fine tho.
To check go to dialler and type
*#*#SERVICE#*#*
Then go to service info
Then software info
Then note down the 8 digit active customisation
XXXX-XXXX
Then look on box for matching number
