Well O2 can't help with a 3rd Party application like WhatsApp.

Assume you regularly back up chats

Try this

https://faq.whatsapp.com/618575946635920/?cms_platform=android

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Knutsford If you didn't back up your WhatsApp messages they're probably lost forever, unless you still have your old phone and haven't transferred your apps and data yet:

Back Up or Restore Chats | WhatsApp Help Center

How to restore chats from your phone's WhatsApp database | WhatsApp Help Center

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Try doing a backup from your old phone

And then restore to the new one

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Sign out of whatsapp on the new phone

Sign back into whatsapp on the old phone (you will get a message that the number is associated with another phone)

Ignore that, sign in and back up the messages in whatsapp settings

Repeat the process on the new phone and then restore messages in the settings

Set it to back up weekly

However, your messages could be totally lost

Not a thing you can do if they aren't still on your old phone
