Can someone from O2 please respond and provide an update of some sort. It's been weeks since the last one.

Unfortunately we haven't had any new updates to share I'm afraid. Until now... 😉

We're expecting to receive new software from Huawei over the next few days that we can begin testing. Providing our tests go well and no issues are found, we hope to have it released in the coming weeks. I'm hoping i'll be able to get an idea of how the tests are going from our device team in a couple of weeks and be able to update further.

To put you in the loop a bit more, I hoped to clarify how the update process works for us:
- We await the update from the vendor (eg, Huawei, Sony, Samsung etc)
- We begin testing this on our sample devices - this typically takes 1-2 weeks, sometimes shorter/longer

- If our tests complete with no issues found, we return this to the vendor where they will either schedule it for release, or delay or re-issue new software depending on if other issues are found by them

I understand the frustration of waiting for new software but unfortunately with Android, it's not as easy as Google releasing a new version and then being available on all devices immediately (like is the case with iOS). Google seed this through to the vendors who will then bake in their own tweaks, custom user interfaces, custom icons, menu layout, 3rd party apps, and then send this out to carriers for their testing. It's the bit where each vendor makes their own tweaks that takes the longest period of time. If for example it takes 6 months for Vendor A to release Update X, we'll only be responsible for around 1-2 weeks of that timeframe which will be down to our testing.

Very many thanks for your update Chris. I look forward to further news of the much awaited release of nougate for my Huawei P9. Hopefully its the very latest version and includes newest EMUI.
