I'm on B182 and still waiting.... supposingly on generic software (bought from CPW), though Huawei say I should be getting it soon!
Hey there @SmileyBoy - this is an 'open market' device so it won't be reliant on O2 software releases. That being said, only Huawei will have more information on the release schedule for this.

This make me not want to use Huawei or O2 again really, in a world of constant upgrades and after being sold a 'flagship' phone to only be thought of after that in a very offhand manner seems a bit insulting. @Chris_K even you are eeking out the least possible information and you're our direct line to your company, Android O is coming out soon.
Unfortunately Android software updates are not as tightly controlled as iOS updates, for instance. Though Android O is official and available on select few devices (eg, the Google Pixel), it will be many months (possibly years) before other devices, including some flagships, receive it.
Regarding updates in general, this depends largely upon the manufacturer - once we receive the update, we will test it and if no issues found, we'll return it to the vendor for them to release it. I know how much you and others have wanted this update, but we have done all we were able to do - we need to wait to be sent updates and until that happens, there's little we're able to do - we don't make or release the software; we only test it and either approve it or send back our results and issues/bugs found, which may delay things until we receive software that doesn't have these issues/bugs.

Hi @Chris_K, is there any further update for us P9 users who have a different software number but bought through yourselves? I know it's not your fault but I do find it mind boggling how the now second largest manufacturer of phones in the world can be so hilariously slow at rolling out the update. Can you feed this back to them at a higher level?
What software build do you have @Anonymous? And is it the standard P9, the P9 Lite or P9 Plus you have?

This is redicuolus.
I have the same build number (EVA-L09C432B182) as many other people here. Huawei support did tell me I should have gotten it by now as the majorty of their phones had already been updated, but because its "locked" to a network they had apply their own tests etc to it. That was back in April or May. We are now in October and still nothing.
I have tweeted O2 but nothing yet. This is some of the worst customer experinces I (and by the sounds of others on this thread I'm not the only one) have ever had.
Get the finger out O2, it would be nice to get Android N before Andriod O comes out...Mind you that will probably be 2020 before it arrive on O2

Hey all, we can see there’s some confusion around build numbers and software updates so let us help clear this up. If you have the P9 with build number B182, or the P9 Lite with build number B131, these are both “open market” software - not O2. This isn’t specific to Huawei, but some vendors (Samsung, Sony etc) apply what’s called a customisation script upon detection of certain SIM cards – so in this instance, the B182/B131 software would have detected an O2 SIM and automatically applied certain customisation such as the ability to connect to O2 Wifi Extra, for instance. Similar customisation scripts would run on detection of other operator SIMs too. To be clear, this doesn't alter the update path you're on - if you purchased SIM free or from CPW for instance, the customisation script still has you tied to the open market update, not the O2 one.
For customers who purchased their P9 device directly from O2, you should be on the latest available Nougat update builds as below:
P9 – EVA-L09C40B364
P9 Plus – VIE-L09C40B360
P9 Lite – VNS-L31C169B390
In that respect, the O2 updates are currently ahead of the curve. We have not seen Huawei’s open market update plans/schedule, but we have notified them of the confusion this has caused and hope to see some progress. Apologies again for any confusion, but if you’re on an open market device, this still appears to be something Huawei are working on. If or when we see any further updates from Huawei regarding their Nougat open market update rollout, we'll of course let you know.
