Have had a Huawei p20 mate pro since march this month since then google has anounced they are no longer supporting the android operating system which means there are no securoty updates.

As this deems the phone as not meeting requirements as sold can the phone be returned to O2 for a different model where android will be supported.

@npears2018 already being discussed here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android/Huawei-no-longer-getting-Android-securityupdates/td-p/1223921

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I'm in the same boat now. Mate 20 Pro purchased on launch day, so not even a year old and I'm not happy about keeping a phone that has been dropped by Google.

What is O2's stance on this? Obviously this a quite a significant change since the contract for the device was signed!

Whatever is happening now is completely out of the control of O2 or any other network who sells Huawei phones. Just saw this. Huawei will support existing phones.

@Martin-O2 Can this and any other thread on the same subject that will undoubtedly appear please be merged with this one: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android/Huawei-no-longer-getting-Android-securityupdates/m-p/1223921

Yes, as said elsewhere, we need a main thread with any O2 announcement on it.
