Homail Security Certificate Issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

In the last week, whenever trying to access my Hotmail account on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini I keep getting an error message that states 'This site's security certificate is not trusted!'. I can't bypass this so can't access my e-mails.

Previously had no problems with accessing this and I do need to access for a few important mails. I've tried going via Outlook too but get the same result.

Any ideas on how I can fix this please?

Thanks very much

Hi

Occasionally turning the phone off and turn the phone back on clears lots of glitches.

You could try deleting hotmail from your phone and re key it back in.

Try this on the phone :

1) Go to https://s.outlook.com or https://m.hotmail.com
2) When prompted, Trust Certificate
3) Go to Email in the settings menu and sync the email accounts

Check the time and date on your phone is correct.
Tick/Untick automatic time updates and time zone etc then reboot phone.

Hi, thanks for that.

Turned off and on, deleted my bookmark to Hotmail (it's just via the web not an app) and tried again but still getting the same message.

Have checked date/time settings which are also correct as when I've Googled the problem it seems these settings can affected security certificate issues (although mainly on PCs/tablets etc).

Any more ideas?

Thanks folks.

If you can get into the settings for your email account just tick the box that says (something like) "accept all certificates".
