HTC One mini - Cracks on white casing

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey folks

Has anyone else got this issue with their phone? I've only had the phone a couple of months and havent dropped it or anything however these tiny little hairline cracks have appeared around the volume button, the side, near the headphone jack and the back.

Its not causing any problem using the handset itself however for a new relatively expensive handset this seems to be a clear defect and I'm not too happy that after two months the phone looks like crap.

I would contact HTC and see if they will look at it for you.

Nothing like that on my one or the mini I did a review on, but I wouldn't be happy if there was either....

I have the mini review phone mi5 mentioned and don't see the issue you mention. .

As it happens i've the same problem with a black version.

In my opinion I believe the plastic used is either the wrong compound or too tight, which develops a problem when other material the phone expands and contracts at differing rates to this casing plastic.

Given the volume of others reporting the same issue at around the same age of phone, I'd say a manufacturer issue. However as the phone was obtained from a retailer, initially it's their responsibility to rectify.

We are well aware of the guarantee obligations, the reason we say go to the maker is that a phone returned to O2 for repair will almost certainly be returned as "damaged" and a charge made for the repairs.

We really have been here before many, many times.

Looks like it, if HTC get around to informing O2 it might be worth sending the phone into them.

HTC will refurb it and it takes 8 to 10 days. Joy isnt it.

I am done with HTC as an entity. Should have learned my lesson when my HTC One X screen literally fell off because of bad glue.
