HTC One X+ Not charging fully post update to JB 4.2.2

I have had my HTC X+ since December 2012 and have been relatively happy with the phone. I have had issues with the phone getting very hot, especially when playing games or at times browsing the web.

Upon leaving my phone on charge this morning from flat I was shocked to find the battery had not charged any more than 10% after about 1hour and was extremely hot.

Suffice to say that I was none to please and went about my day. The battery discharged and on my return I placed it on charge only to find that it is not charging above 5%. The only difference has been the update to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 yesterday.

Is there a simple fix I can implement or is it a couple of weeks without my phone whilst it goes back to the lab?

It's always advisable to do a full restore after an update. make sure you back it up first. If that doesn't cure it then send it for repair.

The first thing HTC or the phone repairer will do is a factory restore so make sure you have backed it up.

Thank you for your prompt reply and suggestion. I think I will have to take it back to the store as the phone has fully discharged and this is too much trouble. I feel that the situation might only get worse so I will take it to the store.

I really would suggest you approach HTC Support for this, and not the o2 store repairs because of the feedback we have come across.
