Galaxy S2 stuck on boot screen

Hi,

 

Ive had my Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) for nearly 18 months now and this morning my phone was off, which was strange as I charge overnight, when I tried to turn it on I couldn't and I had to remove the battery before it would turn on. Unfortunately though now it wont past the initial boot screen (which shows the Galaxy logo).

 

My phone also won't go into recovery or download modes on boot up using the power+home+volume technique and Kies won't acknowledge that my phone is plugged in to the PC.

 

Other than the Galaxy logo the only other thing the screen will display is the battery charging when it is plugged in.

 

My phone is not rooted and Ive never tried to root it, and it's running Jelly Bean.

 

I've accepted that I'm probably going to lose everything on the phone but is there anything I can do to get it working because I can't upgrade until December 😞

 

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Right so I changed USB port and tried again, Kies isn't running and it still failed 😕

 

The screen on my phone still dispays the android figure and "Downloading... Do not turn off Target!!"

Pull the battery and go back into download mode. Are you getting confirmation that the phone is connected in the com box?

Okay I will do and this is what Odin shows: The blue box is confirmation of the phone being connected right? (it goes blue the second my phone is plugged in)

Yes, that all looks OK. If it doesn't work next time try Odin 3.04 instead from here http://www.android.gs/download-odin-3-04/

Hi again,

 

I tried once more and it failed and then I did what you suggested and installed the older version of Odin and it failed again slight_frown

 

Is there anything else I can do?

Just keep trying different USB ports and different cables (if you can). It's been stubborn but it will go eventually. Just keep pressing start after each "Fail" sometimes it will force it through.

There's nothing wrong with your process or what you're doing, but most likely an issue with Odin not liking the USB port or cable.....
