Fire phone not sending text messages

I have recently purchased a Fire Phone and, whilst it is a very impressive phone, it does not send text messages.

When I hit the send button, a warning triangle appears next to the message and it does not go anywhere.

In the 'info about my device' setting, it is not showing my phone number saying it is unable to read from sim, although the IMEI number is showing.

Could this be a dodgy sim?

Yeah, that's what I thought they gave me as I went from a standard sim to a nano sim with the same number etc, so I'll pop back in there.  Would have been nice to be able to have changed it from the phone though.  Thaks guys.

As said, even if you could change it in the settings, you would have to change it every time you switched the phone off and back on. The correct sim will sort it for you.
