Experia Z3 - data usage

I have an Experia Z3; for some reason recently, my data usage has rocketed and it looks like it's Web use (chrome etc). I've already got background data restricted and haven't changed anything else. For example I popped on the net at lunchtime, for less than 5 minutes and almost 25m had been used.
Any ideas???

Yes. Internet uses data.
Cutting background data won't affect app usage if you are using the actual app.
It would be the same on any 1080p phone, not just the XPERIA

You may only be using your internet for only 5-10 minutes at a time --- but if you are visiting data-heavy websites (think YouTube videos, pictures, sound) then that will affect how much is used.

Thanks but I was on the BBC!! It's only recently that the usage has increased - I don't use you tube etc if I'm not on Wi-Fi as I know they eat data, as I said it was just Web use.

If you are in a 3G or 4G area that will use more data anyway
