Just looking for some advice really.
I have used my calls/texts over WiFi in the past and so I assumed you would be able to do that over a wired ethernet connection too if your SIM is present but I'm finding this is not possible and my phone prompts me for a cell connection to do those things. So all I can do over an ethernet connection is use Web and apps basically. Is that right or maybe I'm missing something?
I have an S21 5G from O2 on a PAYM contract and am connecting my phone to my home ISP router over an OTG cable with LAN/RJ45 at one end and at USB C the other going into my phone.
Would appreciate any advice.

Functions you mention are wifi and cellular only so won't work over a fixed BB connection.

Cheers for the info.
Real curious though why you can call/text over a WiFi connection to your ISP router but not over a cabled connection to the same router? I assumed your cell provider would just have an authenticated & encrypted Internet gateway that it would pass the traffic over if you weren't connected to it's network?
