So the phone is locked even though I got it from 02 as a unlocked phone as my previous s9 was unlocked, I have tried to get it unlocked but with no joy I have now found out that the phone was a reconditioned phone and is black listed. Every time I try to contact 02 there robot tells me to go online. We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

Hi Lost21.
I'm sorry that this has happened to you, as it's very unusual for 02 to re-use a blacklisted mobile. The most likely reason this happened is that the previous owner may have traded it in when it was still OK to use, so it would have passed any checks that 02 did on receipt of it. They probably reported it as lost or stolen shortly afterwards, and then perhaps made a false claim on their insurance. The website 'Immobilise' is used by all the mobile networks to block lost or stolen mobiles, as well as a few others.
The IMEI number of that mobile will be registered on at least one of those websites, including the date it was blacklisted. You can check the IMEI number for yourself by typing *#06# on the main calling screen. You may not be able to check the history of your replacement Samsung S9 though, as those websites are only for official use by the mobile networks, but you can definitely get 02 to investigate it for you, and possibly point them in the right direction. I would go into an 02 store to discuss this though, rather than calling them. Please take any of your previous bills and ideally some photo ID with you, in case the 02 store asks for it to verify your identity. Good Luck !
