Best way to charge Samsung Galaxy phones' battery

Anonymous
Not applicable

What is the best way to charge the battery on a Samsung Galaxy phone? I've heard conflicting accounts. Some people say you should every now and then let it completely discharge, then recharge it fully after that, to 'recondition' the battery. Others say you should never let it completely discharge nor recharge it fully, and keep it between 10%-90%.

What is the correct way of going about it, as the two theories are completely conflicting? A friend reckons which approach to use for charging batteries depends on whether you have a lithium or nickel based battery in your phone, but I have virtually no knowledge of battery types...help anyone?

I think my Samsung Galaxy S2 has a lithium battery, if that helps.

Modern L-ion batteries don't really care all that much what you do with them, however, it is recommended that you recharge from around 50% to get the maximum number of recharges out of the battery. Eventually they will wear out but you get many more charge cycles if you charge from 50% rather than from 0%.
Most other facts that you will hear banded about are purely myths......
