Anyone checked it out? 

Apparently it’s only going to be released on certain phones (1 gig ram max) in certain countries. Which seems a shame as my Moto G5 stutters like a good un whenever I try to do anything taxing on it!

and when I look at these other cheap android mobiles wouldn’t they benefit too?

As the article in the link below says, Android Go is primarily for emerging markets, so there's not much chance it will be available in the UK at present.

India is not an emerging market.. they just have less disposable income and therefore go for lower end phones.. which is who and where Android Go is aimed at..
