Samsung keyboard keeps stopping

My phone, Samsung SM-J330FN, keeps saying "Samsung keyboard keeps stopping". I can receive texts but cannot send them as I cannot access the keyboard. Can this be corrected or do I need a new phone? Norma Kinnison
