17/9, 16:15 - Added some more questions & their answers
Q: Where’s the best place to find the latest info about the iPhone 5 on O2?
A: Check out http://j.mp/iPhone5O2 for all the latest information.
Q: How much does iPhone 5 cost?
A: You can have a look at our tariffs and prices for iPhone 5 at http://j.mp/iPhone5O2
Q: Will you be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5?
A: Yes, you can pre-order iPhone 5 on O2 but stock is limited, so be quick.
Q: When will my iPhone 5 pre-order be delivered?
A: If we get your pre-order before 4pm the day before launch, we’ll get it to you on launch day. The only exception to this will be those customers with an address in the Highlands and Islands.
Q: Which tariffs will the iPhone 5 be available on if I grab one from a store?
A: The iPhone 5 will be available on our On & On 24-months tariff as well as the £63 per month tariff over 24 months.
Q: Is it available on 12 or 18 month tariffs?
A: the iPhone 5 is only available on 24 month tariffs.
Q: I’m at the end of my 12 month Simplicity contract. Can I upgrade to iPhone 5 online?
A: Yes, if you are at the end of your contract, you can upgrade to iPhone 5 with online pre-order or on launch day as long as we have the phone in stock.
Q: I’m on 12 month Simplicity but still in contract. Can I upgrade early and get iPhone 5?
A: If you signed up to the special offer £20 a month On & On Simplicity, you’ll need to wait until after 6 months. All other Simplicity customers still in contract will need to go to an O2 retail shop on launch day, Friday 21 September. You will not be able to upgrade online.
Q: I’m on 30 day Simplicity. Can I upgrade to iPhone 5 online?
A: If you’ve been with us for 6 months or longer, yes, you can upgrade with online pre-order as long as we have the phone in stock. Head over to o2.co.uk/upgrade
Q: What if I’ve been with O2 for less than 6 months on a Simplicity tariff? Can I get iPhone 5?
A: It depends on the result of your last credit check. If you don’t see the option to pre-order via o2.co.uk/upgrade give us a call.
Q: Why are your Retail store iPhone 5 prices different to your Online/Telesales prices?
A: When you buy iPhone from O2’s website or through our call centres you will be buying it from Carphone Warehouse (O2 will be acting as an agent for Carphone Warehouse). Carphone Warehouse set their own price for the iPhones we sell on their behalf, so prices may be different when compared to O2 Retail stores.
Q: Is the iPhone 5 available on Pay & Go?
A: Yes – you’ll be able to buy iPhone 5 from O2 on launch day.
Q: Is there a Fast Track Upgrade option available for existing customers?
A: Existing customers can pay to end their contract early, however the cost will vary depending on your contract. Call us to discuss this further.
Q: How do I find out if I’m eligible for an upgrade?
A: Pay Monthly customers can upgrade early depending on their tariff. Find out your upgrade date by texting UPGRADE to 21602. Or check on MyO2 or the My O2 app on your smartphone.
Q: How do I get a nano sim?
A: One will come with the iPhone when you get it from O2 – if you’re buying from elsewhere you’ll be able to get one from us from Monday afternoon (17th September).
Q: What if I get an iPhone 5 from somewhere else? How do I get a nano sim?
A: You’ll need to pick a nano sim up from one of our stores from Monday afternoon (17th September).Remember – you won’t need to do this if you’re getting your iPhone 5 from O2 – we’ll supply a nano sim with it automatically.
Q: Can I buy iPhone 5 on O2, unlock it and use it on another network?

I was in Apple store in Liverpool 1 last night around 7.30pm and it was empty. I asked if I could wait in the corner till Friday and they just laughed at me

Hi Fezzzer
So far I have:
Camping chair (so when they decide to wash the flipping pavement I can still sit down)
iPod (as my galaxy s2 is rubbish for battery life)
Magazine (incase all the boys I'll be queuing with aren't talkative....I'm pretty sure as usual ill be the only girl outside at 5am)
Flask of coffee
iPad
Umbrella
Waterproof coat
Kitchen sink
I'm a girl who likes to be prepared!.......hope you're not planning on camping outside the Apple Regent Street store cos you won't be the first! Some people have apparently started queuing up there already!!!

I found this link yesterday (apologies if its been posted before, I have not found it anywhere). I never saw any of the evidence on the O2 website stating this:- O2 Sold Out
Also one of the comments says O2 pre-orders for iPhone for new customers only ... don't think that part is true

Ive finally got through to retentions via backdoor accounts option afer 2 days of trying.
Bearing in mind Im on £46 per month Unlimited data contract which expired Dec '11, they can only offer me a 24 month contract for iPhone 5!! They said at present there are no 12 or 18 month options available to them nor could they say if O2 would offer them in near future.
So, Ive downgraded to Simplicity 12 month for £20 & will purchase iPhone 5 from Apple. No point in getting SIM free from service providers as you pay same price but phone is locked to their N/W for 12 months!!
Wish Id done this Friday, instead of being a loyal customer & wanting to give O2 the chance of giving me a fair deal on contract.

Anyone on here that ordered their iPhone 5 thorugh Phones4U had any comminucation from them yet regarding your order?
I jave just checked my current account and noticed that the price of the handset (I went for the 16gb iPhone) which i was quoted on the £41 a month tariff, £29.99, has already been debited from my account, by 'Mobile Express' which I am assuming are the people who process the payments for P4U.
Anyone else had any emails or anything with any updates...?!

Not sure if the of any help to anyone but... Info from my local store..
O2 stores opening at 8am (is 6.30-7 too late to start queuing)
No idea of stock levels 'till the day' (they're being delivered on th day?? Really??! LOL)
Fast Track upgrades can be done in store! (better than last year!! :))
Theres been a lot of O2 put downs recently, but I personally think they're doing the best they can under such pressure from hoards of Apple fans wanting the best deal and to get the phone in their hands the quickest! Let's not forget whilst we're hungry for (iPhone) blood that the people we get to speak to are NOT the ones who make the decisions!

because you get to hang out with like minded people who are after the same thing...If you were to put other people together who all had the same interest then the same would happen!
Why do people go to football matches when it's shown on the TV?

Dunno if anyone here knows or lives around Croydon, South London but if you wanna go and queue for an iPhone 5 on Friday - Croydon is a good bet...!!
Down the high street there are loads of phone shops - Vodafone, O2, Carphone Warehoue, Phones4U the lot! And then you have the ones within The Whitgift Centre - yet another O2 shop and also another CPW store and also a 3 shop, all pretty much next door to each other.
I can see it now - people getting into Croydon at around 6-7 am and then going into a blind panic due to not knowing which shop to choose to go and queue up outside!!! LOL
