new tarriffs due to so called rpi inflation

I have today received the email telling me that my charges will increase on my contract due to the rpi index going up,  I am confused as to why O2 is doing this the rpi has been higher than this and they did not put up the prices WHY NOW??  no-one can give me an answer

I took out my contact in December 2012 when the rpi was 3.2%.  In January 2013 it was 3.3% -Feb 3.2% - Mar 3.3% - Apr 2.9% - May 3.1% - June 3.3% -July 3.1% - Aug 3.3% Sept 3.2% - Oct 2.6% - Nov 2.6% - Dec 2.7%

Can someone explain to me why when the index dropped from Sept to Oct by a large amount I had no messages saying my price had gone down. but it jumps by 0.1% for one month, still lower than it had been the previous two years in 2011 averaged 5% and 2012 3% PLEASE CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, I FEEL LIKE WE ARE ALL BEING PLAYED!!!!!

Just wondering if someone could shed some light on the question I have please?

I am currently on a 12 month Simplicity tariff that I took out in November 2013. This was £11 per month when I first took it out. I got an email from O2 saying that it would be going up, due to RPI. It went up to £11.29 per month.

I was just looking at the current 12 month Simplicity tariffs and I see that there is on there tariffs for £11 per month still. Also on this tariff page https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/simplicity/iPhone/ it mentions that:

"From 2015, your Simplicity Pay Monthly plan will be adjusted every year on your April bill by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation* announced in the preceding February"

What I am wanting to know is. If I stop on my current tariff (which I find gives me more than enough calls, texts, data for my uses so I see no need to change for these reasons) after the 12 month period is up (which is November of this year). Will I get an increase again on it in March/April 2015 (which would then put it up to £11.59 at the level RPI is now), and so on the next year and so on?

My thinking if this is the case is. If I were to stop on my current tariff for a number of years, I would be paying getting on for £13 per month (due to the RPI increase added on to it every year). Obviously the more expensive the tariff gets, the more increase I would see.

Whereas (from what I've seen now) there would be cheaper tariffs giving the same or more for less money than what my current tariff would provide.

So for example. If I renew my tariff this year, rather than stopping on my current one, as there are tariffs that are still £11 per month. My month bill would drop from £11.29 to £11 per month, it would remain at £11 per month till March/April 2015, it would then go up to £11.29 again (if the RPI was the same level as now).
