This afternoon I (painfully) migrated my 02 account to my new 02 contract (word of warning this isnt as easy as people on this forum have said, I was passed around 4 people and only the last person understood what I had asked)
My correct mobile number is showing in the new SIM but has still not activated. First i was told it would be real time, then I was told it would be an hour. I've taken the SIM out and turned the phone off several times. How long should the transfer take?

Guide: Migration & porting into O2 has the answers to many of your questions, @JennyL2024 - and moving from an old to a new O2 contract used to take a few minutes when done in an O2 Shop, with a change of SIM to 4G from 3G. Leave the SIM in, and restart the phone every now and then until the activation process completes. Good luck!

Hi my phone did not work all evening but now my original SIM on my original phone has started working. Looking at both sims, they are both registered to my original number but only the original SIM is working. Is this right? I was expecting original SIM to stop and new SIM to be activated.

You could simply put the working SIM into the new phone, for now, @JennyL2024.
Then pop into an O2 shop to straighten out the bits that the old SIM does not give you on the new phone. Good luck!

If you do pop in a shop, please make sure you have Photo ID with you. 😉
