How does live chat take so long to achieve so little?
1st experience - enquiring about what deals were available to get me from vodafone. The whole chat took just short of 2 HOURS. In which time, he made one offer which was worse than the O2 website was offering.
2nd experience - enquiring about why my number hadn't ported within the 1 working day quoted on the site. This chat ended (by me in exasperation) in 45 minutes. Most of this was spent on security questions. This was because a) she wouldn't provide any hint as to what the security question was (not the answer, the question!) and then b) insisted that the address I gave her was wrong. Like I don't know my own address, or the address they sent the SIM to, or their account page on the website was also lying. Sending me verification codes and responding apparently wasn't enough either. After she eventually decided she might vaguely address the actual question, she gave me some flam about it being due tomorrow due to activation yadayada.
I wonder how long an actual issue would take with this lot? I know I shan't be using the live chat ever again. It does make me wonder what kind of system they have that thinks 2 hours is in any way a remotely acceptable length of time to respond?

Live chat is completely useless and best avoided at all costs.
Social media is much better although not "live" all the time.
