I love quotations.
I have used one of my favourites in my signature:
"Some people see things as they are and ask `Why?`; I dream of things that never were are ask `Why not`" said by Senator Robert Kennedy, brother of JFK.
Do you have a favourite quotation or saying?
Whether it is serious or humorous, by a famous person or a relative of friend, why not share it?

I like this quotation @Mi-Amigo it keeps me conscious of what I do ~ (most of the time )
Omar Khayyam
"The moving finger writes:
and, having writ,
Moves on : nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line
Nor all thy Tears wash out
a Word of it"

One of my favourites: "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so."
And the sequitir: "You should send that in to the Reader's Digest - they've got a page for people like you!" (how many people will understand that statement in another 10 years?!)
It's part of an exchange between Ford Prefect and Arthur in "The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy", by Douglas Adams, just before they knock Arthur's house down.

I like that "quote" by Ford Prefect ~ Ford Prefect was a car (bet Adams Dad had one) loved by many?
Fords quote ~ "You can have any colour you want as long as it's Black" : Henry Ford
I remember photos of one in my family at some time like this~

I always liked the story that appeared in one of his books about the packet of biscuits and the stranger waiting for a train (for those who are unaware of this, this link has the story in full).
My other favorite is the answer to THE question - 42!

Known by all in the trade as the 'sit-up-and-beg' model opposed to the later model.

Hello @Cleoriff like you something my dear dad said to me & I've always remembered
If you can't do something, offer an alternative
This was dad saying I'd done good because a director of the firm I worked for asked me, over the phone, if I did shorthand, I said no but I can write quick (ie scribble)
There is a famous quote which goes something like:
'Art & Religion are as difficult to separate as Sport & Politics' ... however ... I can't remember or find who said it, it could possibly be Sir Kenneth Clark in his book / tv series 'Civilisation'
