Word Hunt Diamond - Game 98

Welcome to the Word Hunt Diamond - Game 98

The game is open to all members.

Each week, a grid of nine letters in a diamond will be posted.

The aim of the game is to find the target number of words [as in the source used for the game] using only the letters in the grid.

This week`s "diamond" is as follows:

This week`s target is 53 words - using only letters in the diamond - inc one 9-letter word - and all words must be four letters or more and include the red-letter V.

PLEASE NOTE:

During the game, I will have to STOP the game periodically so I can give updates of words found.

Please be patient and wait. I hope this does not cause too much delay or disruption to the game. 

Towards the end of the game, as soon as the LAST WORD in the list is given, I will post an announcement

- LAST WORD FOUND. PLEASE STOP THE GAME - 

and I will then post my reply to the words given up to the announcement, showing whether the word is in the list or is a word not in the list; 

after that, I will post the Congratulations - who found the last word; who found the nine-letter word; and who gave the most words not in the list up to when I posted the announcement LAST WORD FOUND, PLEASE STOP THE GAME.

I will be giving awards to players 

 star  - to player who finds the nine-letter word

trophy - to the player who finds the last word in the list in the source used for the game

diamond dog - to the player who finds the most words not in the list up to when announcement -

     LAST WORD FOUND, PLEASE STOP THE GAME [words given after the announcement will not count]

The rules:

No proper names are allowed.

Each word must contain four letters or more and must include the red letter V.

Scottish words and American spellings are allowed.

Each letter in the grid can only be used once in each word [for example, VISIT isn`t allowed]

Of course, words do not have to start with the red letter V

Only one word per post.

Please wait until someone else has posted before posting again.

The Word Hunt Diamond game is open to all members.

The last word in the list - VIRTUS - was found by @Bambino 

VIROES found by @Bambino [before announcement to "Stop the game - last word in list found"

is not in the list but in dictionaries so allowed as word not in the list 

Words not in the list - up to notice to stop the game last word found = a grand total of 33 words

- most words not in the list found by @pgn = 15 out of 33 words not in the list

@Cleoriff found 7 words not in the list; @Bambino found 4 words not in the list; 

@J9el found 4 words not in the list; @RafaC found 2 words not in the list;

@gmarkj found 1 word not in the list.

Well done all, it's amazing how many words creep out of the woodwork that weren't on the official list - and nice to see some newer faces on the answers (@J9el and, yes, @RafaC 😆) - verbosity notwithstanding 👍

Congratulations one and all. Probably one of the 'weirdest' word searches ever. I loved it and was sorry my participation dropped off a little after 12md.

It's my grandsons birthday and he came for a visit.

He helped put back 3 fence panels so his visit was more than enjoyable 😂

Although the way we played  this game was different, I'd like to think we can do that again for any game where the diamond has an S?  It means many words are able to have plurals i.e VIBE VIBES

Just a suggestion as quizmaster has the last word (@Mi-Amigo) 😁

I think that @Cleoriff suggestion - that in a WHD game with letter S in the grid, posts with two words giving singular and plural [e.g. VIBE and VIBES] - is a good idea and will bear this in mind for future gaves with letter S in the grid.
