Welcome to the Word Hunt Diamond - Game 81

The game is open to all members.

Each week, a grid of nine letters in a diamond will be posted.

The aim of the game is to find the target number of words [as in the source used for the game] using only the letters in the grid.

This week`s "diamond" is as follows:

                                                                                       C

                                                                                   G     H

                                                                               O     E     U

                                                                                   K     N

                                                                                       R

This week`s target is 65 words - using only the letters in the diamond - including one 9-letter word.

I will be giving awards to players

star  star  - to the player who finds the nine-letter word

trophy trophy - to the player who finds the last word in the list in the source used for the game

dog diamond dog - to the player who finds the most words not in the list before the end of the game.

The rules:

Each word must contain four letters or more and must include the red letter E.

No proper names are allowed.

Scottish words and American spellings are allowed.

Each letter in the grid can only be used once in each word [for example, KEEN isn`t allowed]

Of course, words do not have to start with the red letter E

Only one word per post.

Please wait until someone else has posted before posting again.

PLEASE NOTE: I will have to STOP the game periodically so I can give updates of words found. Please be patient and wait whilst this is being done and hope it does not cause too much delay or disruption to the game.

The Word Hunt Diamond game is open to all members.

I hope the Diamond Dogs of Words [thanks @pgn for the term] - those who have played in previous

Word Hunt Diamond games - including

 @Cleoriff  @Anonymous  @pgn  @BobM  @Bambino  @gmarkj  @TallTrees  @RafaC  @MI5  @Projectionist

 @lewys-gp  @jonsie

any member who has not played before or has not played for a while; and any new member will join in and play today`s WHD.

Can you, between you, not only find the 65 words in the list [in the source used for this game], and the

nine-letter word in this WHD game, but also find additional words not in the list ?

Good luck everyone and have fun...

Sorry @Bambino that you missed out on the game.

Brill game today - lots of participation, great banter, some competitive edge and a rat up a pipe!  Oh: And @Mi-Amigo buried in the WHD Word Neuk in his living room, under a mound of open dictionaries again (impressed you found the Scottish gutter one!) 👍

Thanks, all!

Thank you @pgn

Pleased you enjoyed the game and well done on finding the most words not in the list. I admit I did have to check the Scottish gutter word.

It was great fun.

I think "finding the words not in the list" is becoming quite competitive but does add to the fun of the game.

I was a bit sad it was over all of a sudden. Last I read there were 9 words left to find and I had a few more words which I'm sure wouldn't have been on the list...😂 🤣 I accept defeat on that one. Better luck next time eh @pgn?  Lol x

Oh and @pgn, it was a 'rat up a drain' not a pipe. 😂

Actually @Cleoriff - you and @pgn are both partly correct.

Nitpicking here, but the correct saying as far as I know is 'rat up a drainpipe' meaning if it's been scared a rat will run up the outside of a drainpipe heading for the guttering or the rhones above.  Bit of useless info for you.

@BobM

Quite correct about 'rat up a drainpipe'. However, it doesn't flow as well as Rat Up a Drain...which can be said quickly and give people a laugh 😂 (even though drains are usually on and in the ground, making it damn impossible for a rat to run UP it) ....unless it's a sewer rat of course. *Whistles* roflfearful
