Answers have been PM'd to you Mi-Amigo (Hopefully not Bre like I did last week! 😬)

Loved the collection of questions this week, some tough ones, some medium and then a couple of easier ones. (For me anyway) I still struggle with the art ones but thanks for putting the WRQ together.

THE ANSWERS

Q1 SPACE 1 - Which planet in our solar system [not counting the Moon] is nearest to Earth ?

A1   Mercury. Physics Today of 12 March 2019 read here reported their scientists had studied the orbit of the

planets in our solar system over decades and had found Mercury was the closest to Earth most often.

Some gave the answer as Venus. As NASA website read here gives Venus as planet closest to Earth,

I will be generous and also accept Venus as a correct answer.

Q2 TV 1 - In the US TV sit-coms "The Big Bang Theory" and "Young Sheldon", what song is sung to Sheldon

                 when he is sick ?

A2   "Soft Kitty"

Q3 ART 1 - Which sculptor produced "Stringed Figure (Curlew) Version II" in 1956 ?

A3    Barbara Hepworth

Q4 SPORT 1 - Who was appointed as manager of the men`s England football team in 2007 ?

A4    Fabio Capello

Q5 SPACE 2 - What was the name of the spacecraft in which the USSR launched Laika, a dog, into orbit of

                       the Earth in 1957 ?

A5   Sputnik 2. Sorry,  I can`t accept just Sputnik as correct answer as there was more than one Sputnik.

Q6 TV 2 - Which children`s TV character lives at 124 Conch Street, Bikini Bottom, Pacific Ocean ?

A6    SpongeBob SquarePants

Q7 ART 2 - Which artist painted "Little Dancer Aged Fourteen" in 1880 ?

A7   Degas

Q8 SPORT 2 - "Points in the paint" and "pump fake" are terms in which sport ?

A8    basketball
