Hey guys.
In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too! 
To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.
(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

Thanks. I hope so too. It's a really nice flat and even it's city, it's green.
A very nice young male friend of mine offered to have a look at a blocked outside drain for me ... he came 'armed' with a rather industrial looking brown very long glove ... = ... the kind tv's vet series James Herriot would have found 'handy' when allus having his arm up to his armpit inserted inside a cow's rear end
Within 5 minutes the water from the kitchen mixer tap was running freely down the said drain ... I poured lots of bleach down the drain ... & ... the sink plughole
I just can't tell you how grateful I am ... I've known him for a few years ... & ... he's recently re-located to the town where I live and hasn't got a washing machine yet ... so ... no problem for me to do his 'main washing'
My Gran Dorothy allus told me ... = ... a fair exchange is no robbery
Payday for me is tomorrow ... so I shall buy him a few bevvies too

Today I'm feeling very happy because the kitchen work in my flat is finally finished. 
No more stress for the cats and no more workmen coming and going. They even fixed a (separate) hot water issue for me while they were finishing off things in the kitchen. The oven/hob is new too. I borrowed a recipe book from a colleague and will start cooking something easy soon to practise for even more cooking in the future! 
Hello @Marjo ... it all sounds very nice ... do we get to see photos of what you bake in your new kitchen ? ... you've said on the community you enjoy baking 
btw I've found that I've no detergent under the sink ... so ... when it gets light outside orf I go to Tesco store to buy some then I can get washing
Lovely phone call from my mum thanking me for a little bunch of pink peonies when I was in Tescoes early this morning ... mum sounded clear over the phone & being a gardener before she became poorly appreciated them ... the blooms should fill out to tennis ball size
Today is State Pension payday ... so ... got rather p!$$t on double pink Gordons gin & plain Fever Tree tonic ... gin is strawberry flavour ... = ... sooo good ... had been on soda water with ice & a slice to look like a G&T with the odd pot of tea to show willing + £1 in the tips jar for politeness
Banter in the hotel bar where I usually hang out in the afternoon ... I'm treated 'as one of the lads' ... they're a right grand favourite few men ... I'm no laddylass, however the men are a pleasure to be with & it's a priviledge to be seen as a good friend by them

So the "big" move is close now.
(Ok, will have to bring some things there in July still, but I will live in the new place next week).
It's bipolar... I'm happy. And sad. I can't decide what's more.
So on monday I signed the contract (for the new work), got a nice new pay-tariff (300€ pre tax more, 42 hours instead of 48 per week).
So my boss offered me the "du" (as we differ du and Sie... It's so much easier with you/you) - what's very uncommon. She was very happy I want to get the First Aid Instructor course (they need them very bad.. I always wanted, but the jobs before weren't happy to send you to courses) and already sent me dates today by mail. As well as other courses (like desinfection, instructor for apprentices, group leader etc) they like to send me.
Me and another girl are the only Rettungsassistenten who work full hours. So we seem to be very valuable 
She asked me when I want to do the course for Notfallsanitäter (that's actually closer to your Paramedic now - which will replace the RettAssistant by 31th dec 2020).
I met 3-4 new collegues. They seemed very nice and asked me to join the "KatSchutz" (it's a unit for catastrophies) - where it's often party at the end. Already got offers to have someone driving me home XD
So I hope I'll get a connection fast and enjoy moving there

I finally feel valuable as a worker. Not like before... Where we got told we're lazy and don't work enough (and we had really much to do plus work like washing our clothes at the watch)
