Hey guys.

In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too! slight_smile

To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.

(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

I’m happy how people that are complete strangers to each other offer each other support at a funeral - my afterthought after today’s experience ❤️

My son Alex rang me today ... I hadn't heard from him in about 5 weeks

It always bucks me up to hear his voice smiling

He rang to let me know he'd received their Christmas card from me & their cat Juno's Christmas present

He's looking forward to having some time off work over the festive period & adding a few days annual leave to recuperate from an ongoing health issue

We're all hoping for a better 2019 for all of my family

I second your wish for a better, and healthier, 2019 for you and your family @Anonymous. And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I love her. So bitingly witty.

I've seen her on panel shows and she is brilliant.

They did a compilation of the best bits of Would I Lie To You.

Between her and Bob Mortimer, I was crying with laughter...Bouncy

On thursday I picked up my new iPhone, applied for a travel-passport (we usualy only have ID-Cards and as you can travel the EU aswell as turkey + egypt, most just have the card one) and left catholic church. So on 21th was the first day out of it.

Aswell as it was mum's funeral-day. It was so stormy and rainy... But still so many people! I guess 130-150 people... Dad's tomb was already placed on the new spot. It was nice to see almost the whole family again..

Sounds like the event went well, @ComaChameleon - funerals and wakes are never comfortable.

That said, it is one thing that brings various family members together again for a short period of time, so everything works out for the best, usually.

Reminds me of the joke:

What's the difference between an Irish wake (or funeral) and an Irish wedding?

There's one less drunk at the funeral...  rofl
