May 31st is Walt Whitman's birthday so I thought we might have a poet-themed scramble today. I'm not sure if he rates on this side of the world, but I bet some of you will definitely remember the iconic Oh Captain, My Captain from the Dead Poet's Society.

These are poets themselves, rather than titles of poems.

Hope to see our regular quizzers and any others I might have forgotten or who want to join the fun! No advance warning on this one so if you don't make it, no sweat!

One of my absolute favourites:

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

If the moon smiled, she would resemble you.

You leave the same impression
Of something beautiful, but annihilating.

A mind not to be changed by place or time.

The mind is its own place, and in itself
Can make a heav'n of hell, a hell of heav'n.

My life has been the poem
I would have writ,
But I could not both live
and utter it.
