PQ17: An Arctic Convoy Disaster
The story of one of the worst disasters at sea during the second World War.
It's going out on BBC2 now but it should be on iPlayer if you miss it.
The book was excellent and Jeremy Clackson's commentary on this film is superb, I'm in tears watching this.
You wouldn't believe the stupidity by some and the courage and tenacity of others.
In all 4,000,000 tons of supplies were conveyed to the Russians at a cost of nearly 3,000 lives and 105 ships.
In March 2013 all those who served were awarded a proper campaign medal - The Arctic Star.
This is a must see documentary.
