Good for you!   You are talking like a pro already! Keep at it and when you have it all sussed let me have a summary  - one half A5 page would do just fine.  Smiley Frustrated

In lsymans terms @Anonymous think of old style broadband. Used to be very slow on the copper wires. It was great when 1mb download arrived.

Then along came fibre. Whoosh. Speeds up to 150mb and now trials are underway for 1000mb in places.

BUT: Fast broadband is great for streaming and downloading large files but it doesn't do that much for day to day stuff like website browsing. You wouldn't really notice any difference really between a 10mb copper broadband and 100mb bt infinity.

Http2 aims to bridge that gap and make the Internet a quicker place. As we move towards the Internet of Things and pressure grows on the networks this will be a major help in the future.

Ah dear @Anonymous my thinking days have long since passed!   I just use things now - have not the mental agility or stamina to fathom the intricacies.   But one thing I have observed over my 30 odd years' association with computer-related matters is that they are NEVER EVER fast enough.  Am I being unreasonably cynical in suggesting that they never will be?  Spaced

Re: The internet is about to get faster

I struggled through it in my effort to learn new things......Smiley Wink

Very pleased to note that my current browser already supports HTTP2. Also anything that speeds up my constant Google searches can't be a bad thing LOL

Oh  dear @Anonymous  Is this not improved since you have moved? Or are you just getting slightly better 3G signal now?.....

I know you have yet to meet the lesser spotted 4G monster LOL

Re: The internet is about to get faster

Arghhhhhhhh @Cleoriff what can I say?

The lesser spotted 4g has been seen in these parts. However if I turn 4g on, then calls and texts won't work. And callers trying to contact me won't go to voicemail either.

So you see the dilemma. Use the Web or make calls / send texts but I can't do both.
