       9 am today [Mon 26 Aug 2024] and 9 pm tomorrow [Tues 27 Aug 2024]

so those who are busy or out-and-about will have a chance to join in.

Q1 Six friends go on a summer holiday together. Five of the friends are SARAH, RUTH, SIMON, ADAM, and

        KENNETH. Is the sixth friend - HENRY, GEORGE, RICHARD, or ROSEMARY ?

Q2 The water level of the reservoir doubles every day. It takes 60 days to fill the reservoir.

        How many days does it take for the reservoir to be half full ?

Q3 Which of thefollowing words is the odd one out

         CANARIES, CHAMELEONS, GORILLAS, LIBRARIAN, SCORPIONS ?

Q4 What is the next number in this sequence

          914275    94275    9475     975 ?

Q5 Which creatures has the head of a lamb, the middle of a pig, the hind of a buffalo, and tail of a dragon ?

Q6 A man is alone in a room, which has no door and has no window. The walls, floor, and ceiling are made of

        concrete and are 6 inches thick. The man has no tools to help him.

        How does the man leave the room alone ?

Q7 Add + , + , +, - , to the following numbers

          9  8  7  6   5  4  3  2  1

      to make an equation which = 100

      NOTE - you CANNOT change the order of the numbers in the sequence

Q8 There are a dozen eggs in an egg carton. 12 people each take one egg, but there is still one egg left in

        the egg carton. Explain how this is possible.

Q9 There are 7 loaves of unsliced bread that need to be shared equally between 12 people.

        How can this be done without splitting any loaf into 12 pieces ?

Q10  A window cleaner is cleaning the window on the 30th floor of a skyscraper. Suddenly the window

           cleaner slips and falls but does not injure himself. The window cleaner was not wearing a safety

           harness and there was nothing to cushion his fall.

           How did the window cleaner fall without injurying himself ?

A8  Last person takes last egg carton with last egg in it.

        How can this be done without splitting any loaf into 12 pieces ?

A9  Split each of 4 loaves into 3 equal pieces

       Split each of 3 loaves into 4 equal pieces

       Give each of the 12 people one of each types of piece.
