And how time flies! Time for the annual reveal of this years Strictly cast of celebs. Oh who am I kidding, let's just pick the anonymity out of the dustbin that is the BBC budget for a flagship show. So before the exciting questions of "Who is this" and "Que?" followed by "Weren't they on Eastenders a decade ago?" and the inevitable "Guess who's needs a career boost", we must mention the new and exciting changes.
First, in a very thoughtful and provoking group session in the BBC canteen, same old judges line-up and we'll get more of I, Claudia propped up by Tess Daley emerging from her yearly hibernation box who may sport another subtle cosmetic procedure. DAO is likely to return as Oasis are still on tour.
Though in rather more salacious news, there is a drug investigation by the BBC into two "Strictly stars". Which was submitted in March but hey, a new series of Strictly needs all exposure as possible so was announced a few days ago. Must disengage cynical mode....and two new dancers to join Neil Jones as backing dancers: Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon. Usual pro-dancers and yet we still have Katya Jones?
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey
First up, because the BBC really need Gladiators to be successful and everyone will be copy & pasting his name cos I ain't typing it. Former athlete and er, current Gladiator. Could do reasonably well but may find himself in the dance-off mid-series because someone has to.
Alex Kingston
Various roles over the years and this years older woman contestant so far. Could be fun or could be not.
Dani Dyer
Not Danny Dyer and just to remind you who she is, the BBC has kindly put up a photo with Danny Dyer. Famous for being Danny Dyer's daughter and being on Love Island but mainly being Danny Dyer's daughter as seen in the photo. Dubious EE link but we await to see if Danny Dyer will be announced as a contestant to remind everyone who the daughter of Danny Dyer is.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Legend. And my favourite so far to bring the entertainment. Possibly some decent footwork coming from a footballer but we'll see. Probably won't help him find a new club to manage though.

All I can say is this:
If this is the best they can do for 'Celebrities' then it will be the worse show ever.
I know 6 of the 15. They aren't famous, BBC is scraping the barrel.
Dani, Alex, Jimmy, Vicky, Stefan and Ross. I've heard of the lass with Downs. Thats it.
I can hardly wait.!

Ross King: literally one of the most boring safe celebs ever on Strictly according to his wiki page. And literally someone I've never seen on TV.
Karen Carney: One the many reasons I don't watch the pre, mid and post parts of football games these days. Might do well enough given the "potential" of the other contestants this year.
Kristian Nairn: So the blurb states he's "at the forefront of music and entertainment for nearly two decades". Technically 2019 and 2020 are two decades aren't they. Sadly all jokes about Game of Thrones will go over my head as I have never seen it and I have no idea of who he is.
I say it nearly every year and this year stands out exceptionally as being "the worst year ever". And it wouldn't surprise me if they announce its going to be the last one either towards the final.
Starts on 20th September. May take a few weeks to splutter into some form of life. Like 12.

So pleased you've never watched Game Of Thrones. I thought I was the only one!
Re Ross King. If you are still working, you would never see him on TV. He's the 'Hollywood/US gossip columnist. Tells us everything we really don't want to know about US celebs. Is on ITV on the early morning Breakfast shows.
I was thinking about the presenters of SCD. I have no idea why Tess Daly is the main presenter? As far as I can see, she comes out once a year to do SCD, has a bit more botox and wears some pretty frocks. They wind her up and off she goes 😂
Claudia Winkleman on the other hand, presents the hugely popular The Traitors which wins awards frequently.
She also co-hosted The Great Sewing Bee and The Piano. She's quirkily funny and does have a personality.
Tess always seems to struggle to show any personality at all.
At the end of the show in December, she's put back in her 'Barbie' box until the following September.
Seems weird that BBC keep her on?!

The dodgy leg as you put it was a storyline in Neighbours
His legs are fine....
True @jonsie
As he said in interview " It will be great to do something using both my legs" 😂

This series is getting off to a very bad start.
Apparently the police are involved in allegations of drug use.
In a statement, the Met said it had "received an allegation about drug related offences".
"Police are assessing the information and further enquiries are taking place to establish whether there is evidence of a criminal offence being committed," it said.
The BBC said it had "clear protocols and policies in place" for dealing with any serious complaints raised with it.
The Met's involvement comes after the the BBC launched an investigation earlier this month into alleged drug use by two stars of the show, who have not been named.

This one will amuse especially if you've had the misfortune to tolerate Narindar Kaur anywhere. The type of person who'd argue with her own reflection and lose. Apparently "she approached Strictly who turned her down for being too controversial" rather than the obvious fact she's just plain obnoxious who'd be voted out in the title sequence:
But if BBC really wanted a ratings winner, they'd invite her and Lawerence Fox 🤣

Strictly ran out of juice at least a decade ago, now they're using z list "celebrities" who can't dance for toffee.
