As Christmas Eve is nearly upon us, I thought I would re-post the thread @viridis posted nearly 10 days ago, as it has gotten a bit lost down the pages, and is such a good idea for anyone who has young children:

On a separate note, @Cleoriff also mentions the following link in that thread, but I thought I would re-post that as well. I'm sure many people know of it. It's a good thing to have if parents are having to deal with getting their over excited kids to bed on Christmas Eve, because as we all know, Santa won't come to a child's house if they're still awake. This tradition began in 1955, long before the internet, but it's come into its own in this age:

thank you @perksie for your input & great to know you are 'keeping a watchful eye upon us' 

this is such a lovely thread, I've probably said it before, & if my son was a little kid today he'd be just as fascinated with the links posted as those of you who have little children/grandchildren at this time of year

I shall be outside on the canal towpath = no lights, in the dark from ten past five to twenty past five to watch for Santa's sleigh

I can remember ordering a personal story book from somewhere like Studio Cards many years ago for my son when he was a little kid & we loved reading it together & looking at the pictures ..... how things have moved on nowadays

Yes I had noticed......just got to find out from my other half which way I should be looking...

@Anonymous  I don't think it matters what age you are, I still find it a magical time...Firstly me...then my lads...and now my grandkids....I see it through their eyes...:smileywink:

Well I was watching...other half said it was a plane....then realised it wasn't...Brilliant

I am now in warming 'the cockles of my heart' with something festive...and alcoholic.
