I knew this would happen. Research is already being hit by the Brexit vote.
"Just weeks after the UK voted to leave the European Union, researchers are losing grants".

Having worked in an environment which thrived and grew on research linked projects, I could honestly weep at this news...

I honestly don't think many of them realised the full implications of voting to leave. It was one of the first things I said to my husband. He replied there were countries outside the EU who would work with us. I asked him if he realised how much funding we got from the EU to participate in these projects? He had absolutely no idea......

Short term being the operative word. The IMF's forecast isn't very promising, and it says the UK will suffer the most.
