I wonder @jonsie how many tests the deceased would have played for England in the current era ?
He had a splendid average batting in the days of uncovered pitches and played at a time when England might play a maximum of five home tests in a Summer ; and an absolute maximum of five tests in a Winter. He was also an amateur who retired prematurely to pursue his career in business. ☑️
