Most of us now are aware of the extreme disaster in the Philippines which has left many homeless and hungry.
9.8 million people have had their lives torn apart. They need food, shelter & clean water. Text DEC to 70000 to donate £5 or online: http://bit.ly/1eEojNe (Link is to the Disasters Emergency Committee web site)
Goods and medical services are already responding but there is so much more still to do, please make a donation if you can.

I made a donation to the Red Cross appeal (before the DEC appeal was announced) - I don't usually cry at news stories but I cried all the way through the BBC report on Monday night.
The company I work for is making a donation to the Philippines Red Cross appeal and will match any donations so we have had a collection in the office.
Seeing things like this make you realise that, in most cases, our problems are pretty small. So what if a particular iPhone is out of stock or what shall I buy so and so for Christmas.

DEC are always there, they comprise a group of 14 charities including the British Red Cross:

It's great that you have sent a contribution.

Hi guys,
Just to let you know, O2 is supporting the DEC Appeal to allow donations by text, waiving all charges so 100% of the donations go to DEC. More details here: bit.ly/1eEojNe. We’re also planning to match Telefónica employee donations to DEC.

Very good news, well done O2.
Using the shortcode 70000 is free and takes £5 from your phone credit, all of which goes to the DEC.
If you're a UK taxpayer you can use Gift Aid to increase your donation by 25% at no cost to you.

Your text could purify enough water for two families for a month. Text DEC to 70000 to give £5 #TyphoonAid pic.twitter.com/GO9mm7wALc
