ONE SENTENCE HALLOWEEN STORY - 2023

Good morning 

As it's Friday it's time to pull out the reading chair and get your writer's head on to take part in the ONE SENTENCE HALLOWEEN STORY - 2023 edition.

I've taken inspiration from the 2022 edition created by @Cleoriff and this year's story will follow similar rules, which can be seen below ↘️

• The story will need involvement from several members to complete the story.
• You can contribute more than one sentence, however, let others get involved in between.
• As this is a Halloween Story, please make this as spooky as you can and keep us all on the edge of our seats
• I have started the story below, so you'll just need to comment on the thread to continue the tale.
• The story will come to a close when I comment: THE END.
• The complete story will then be posted for all to read from start to finish.

A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT 

She turned off the porch light and set the bowl of candy on the table. Trick or treating was officially over. She sighed. Thankful for the silence, she began walking up the stairs to brush her teeth. Something made her pause. Turning her head, she looked to see if the door was locked. It was. Looking out the window, the street appeared to be just as empty and silent as the house. Silly, she thought and took another step. Then she heard it again....................................................

And then, to make matters weirder, the frog became...

What a day, it croaked.

And, as the darker evenings draw in... surely...

oh!  Will anyone end my torment she said before fainting

I'm not great at finales but here it is:

The alarm went on her clock ⏰ a new day the day after Halloween.  She tip toes down stairs the right way up this time scared she may meet all those horrible creatures.  It was quiet and calm. Thank God she thought standing  accidentally on the cat's tail they both jumped in the air hearts racing. A few party goers from the night before were strewn over the lounge floor but other than that it must have been a nightmare she thought grabbing the coffee pot and feeling like @Mi-Amigo out of the ground skeleton 💀 what a party 🥳 

Next Halloween must be much quieter 🤣🥳🥱

A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT 

She turned off the porch light and set the bowl of candy on the table. Trick or treating was officially over. She sighed. Thankful for the silence, she began walking up the stairs to brush her teeth. Something made her pause. Turning her head, she looked to see if the door was locked. It was. Looking out the window, the street appeared to be just as empty and silent as the house. Silly, she thought and took another step. Then she heard it again...... A noise, or was it a screech. Was someone in pain...What was it? Halloween was over! Maybe. just maybe someone was being murdered!!. She turned on the stairs ready to descend and then.......

The noise came from behind her, yet again... What on earth was happening?

She was a bit upset now. More so as she had descended those damn stairs in a very unusual way. Was the noise downstairs or upstairs....she felt a bit dizzy now.....As she came around from her faint, she caught sight of this image in the full-length mirror at the bottom of the stairs......She eventually stood up and was terrified to see something glowing and flickering outside. Trembling she opened her door slightly Aaaaggghhh she screamed........

She thought there was a twirl of something white with a small screech....Bl**dy Pumpkins, she muttered, and hurled the umbrella stand out the door at whatever was in the flickering light..... 'Aggghhhh back to you' whispered the scary pumpkin, "What a weird face you have. More scary than mine!!"

On looking again after throwing the umbrella stand she saw a pair of ghostly hands reaching out to to grab her by the throat......For some reason, she was unable to move......Leave my throat she pleaded. I've been good. You can pull my hair out if you like, it's a right mess.....Her bony fingers encountered something soft and yielding. Quick as a flash , a dog appeared - a stitched-together mutt!.....A stitched-together mutt ?" she muttered "What harm can that do ?"; when suddenly the dog bared its fangs and lunged at her.....Is that Sparky, she yelled, here boy, help me out. However, the dog, not recognising his weird owner, growled and jumped up pulling at one of her hands. It was a bone after all....

Frought with fear, something gave....... It was one of her hands, ripped off at the wrist by Sparky, the one time faithful dog!....When I said it was `armless, I meant the dog not me" she cried; and kicked out at the dog.....Rushing back upstairs, she went to lock herself in the bathroom, only to encounter....Handless and legless, she wondered if she was drunk?

Then she realised who it was that had made the noise up above. More to the point, she realised what the noise meant.....I`ll sober up by washing my face" she said and bent over the sink, when above her a frightening sight appeared in the bathroom mirror.....Oh god look at me she said. But I have my hand and leg back at least!....AHHH now look at me....Vampires, Scary Pumpkin, Sparky the dog, and all manner of horrible things...this is a nightmare surely..... And sliding the sash window up, she launched herself off into the night....

In search of a victim to sink her fangs into.... "Can`t have a horror story without a drop of blood" she said...

where she encountered other creatures of the night....and just like a bat she flew....and as she flew towards the glow on the horizon, hoping it was not dawn....She hoped she would join The Lost boys...they were very fanciable....Then she heard the music and knew she was there.....and she watched as wine from an ancient amphora was quaffed.....Is that wine she wondered...or is it blood? She was so thirsty....should she quaff the wine /blood, or bite the neck of a Lost Boy......??....

Half crazed with the atmosphere, she shouted out...."I love Halloween Drinking Games" she said

Oh, I thought you said "dunking".... clearly, the "wine" was getting to her.....No trick she said....just treat.... The best part of waking up is drinking blood, she said, rubbing her eyes....Then, she caught a glimpse of fancy-boy's mum....Oh No!!....And then she saw the Daddy.....but turning to the witches`s brew, she said "I`m on for some of that"

But then she heard Daddy screaming... "Oi You"....Very briefly, "Pttwaaang!" went the g-string.....and then she woke up.....her pillow was covered in blood though....so was it real.....???.....Hearing all the commotion the dead warriors march in on her house ready to kill....Hordes of the bony, ghostly blighters...

But, undaunted, the pumpkin creatures suddenly......played a cunning game of pass the frankfurter.....Then up popped a bunch of Happy Ghosts ~ they were going to eat all the....frankfurters ! That is better she said when all of a sudden....Hundreds of flying witches arrive to share the frankfurters too along with a black cat, such wonder she said and then.... Something wonderful happened she thought or was dreaming she was Sleeping Beauty........

Then she woke up and found a FROG instead of a prince ~ this has been a terrible day she said hope it ends soon.....And then, to make matters weirder, the frog became... What a day, it croaked.....And, as the darker evenings draw in... surely.......oh! Will anyone end my torment she said before fainting.... from which she never woke up!!
