What a farce this is turning out to be.
Earlier this month The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) had recommended all Russian athletes be banned from the Rio Olympics after its independently commissioned report found evidence of a "four-year state sponsored doping programme" across the vast majority of Olympic sports.
The IOC made a decison to ban some athletes but then, in rather a cowardly move, passed on the responsibility to the individual governing sports bodies. (In other words " you decide....we wont!")
Now 5 days before the start of the games we are told the IOC has convened a 'three person panel' who will make a final, final final decision on the recommendations made by the individual sports bodies.

I think this smacks of hypocrisy and fear......?

I think this is ridulous. The IOC banned some...then wussed out and asked the individual sporting bodies to do it....NOW they have 5 days before the start of these farcical games to approve or decline the suggestions to ban. Yes 250 athletes have been approved already. To me this totally contravenes the WADA report.
If a country has been found guilty of having a four year STATE SUPPORTED doping plan.....then kick them out.
(Apart from new Russian athletes who would probably not have been involved)
This hypocrisy is because it is the 'mighty Russia'....I can't tell you how sickened I am about this.
To me.. if any athlete (from whatever country) has ever been found guilty of doping they should never be allowed to participate again. End.Of...
They are cheats.....

As an aside eg Maria Sharapova world leading Russian beautiful looking tennis player was caught ... = ... say no more
Well yes Ms Sharapova was caught and deserved her punishment. Personally I was glad to get shut of her because of her damn grunting. I would turn the sound down when she was on...
