If you are a Harry Potter fan then which do you prefer - the books or the films?

Are some of the books better than the films or vice versa?

Which is your favourite book/film?

I've always found books to be better than the films apart from a few exceptions.

I like Stephen King and prefer his books to the film adaptations.

One of my favourite books of his is "The Stand"  - The film wasnt too bad.

He wrote a good book called "Cell"

"Cell is an apocalyptic horror novel published by American author Stephen King in 2006. An excerpt was published in the January 24, 2006 issue ofEntertainment Weekly.[1] The story follows a New England artist struggling to reunite with his young son after a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell phone network turns the majority of his fellow humans into mindless vicious animals."

I've only seen the first film and it's nowhere near as good as the book. I've read all the books and loved them though.

I generally find that books are better than films.

I've read all the books as well, and I can say why they made 2 films for book 7, some of the earlier films ommited some bits of the stories to make the films short enough to keep kids' short attention spans.

I was reading one of the books on the flight back from Florida and I was so glad it was a night flight and most of my fellow passengers were asleep as I sat there sobbing when one of the characters died!

Oh I cry at anything!  If a programme or story is about animals I'm usually in floods of tears before I know what the story is about!

The last movie I cried at was Marley and Me, I cried when the dog died at the end, and I'm not even a dog lover despite having lived with them for over 20 years of my life.

For obvious reasons I haven't seen Marley and Me - Kleenex couldn't supply enough tissues for that one!  I even cried at Marmaduke - I'm still trying to live that one down!
