I think we all have our moments when we read and see weird  grammar and punctuation, but here is a little test if you want to find out how good you are.

No cheating, 14 questions:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/teacher-network/teacher-blog/quiz/2013/feb/04/grammar-punctuation-quiz-tes...

I scraped 11 correct with a bit of luck.

Not so easy is it?

I failed on 11, 13 and 14, I'm annoyed as I knew what a gerund was but it just wouldn't come to mind.

Not the kind of word you hear often.

Indeed after using google haha.

How sad is it I'm much better at spotting others mistakes than my own:(

My pet hate is people using "whom" in the wrong way and thinking they're all that... grin

I am amazed at the number of mostly youngsters, that don't know the difference between

to, too and two, their, there and they're.

Desperate and separate cause problems as well with the spelling and there are loads of others.

To and too have a habit of tripping me up. It's incredibly simple but its always evaded me when I'm writing:(

I honestly believe a lot of the problems these days are down to spell checkers.

I'm glad to say that I knew what a gerund was but it's many a year since I took English A level and the old grey matter isn't what it once was. Since we lose around 100,000 brain cells every day I can't have that many left:smileysad:
