I think we all have our moments when we read and see weird  grammar and punctuation, but here is a little test if you want to find out how good you are.

No cheating, 14 questions:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/teacher-network/teacher-blog/quiz/2013/feb/04/grammar-punctuation-quiz-tes...

I scraped 11 correct with a bit of luck.

I think that would be a great idea:)

To be honest whom is not something really taught in public schools as its apparently outdated.

I had a fair few private school friends who were Incredibly well spoken so it rubbed off I guess. I guess my own tenacity for improving my failings helped as well:/
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink

The question is Damien are you now looking at where/why you went wrong?

If you are I wouldn't feel dumb at all slight_smile

I think I have learned more since I left school, although a couple of teachers did show me how, which has helped.

I always loved spelling and our favourite teacher made us do 40 each morning before assembly, so we would compete to be the best.

It left me with not being able to write without self checking the spelling first, then you develop a sense of a word not looking right on the page.

@i was brilliant at spelling at school but rubbish at grammar so that may explain it, but it was fun. hey @Anonymous an idea for you, a quiz section or weeky topic quiz game

That's a fantastic idea, Stuart. Were you thinking about a couple of pub-quiz type of questions or something else?

We're looking at revamping the weekly highlights, so it might fit well there.

Same here. Grammer really is a difficult thing and it's not like those were the easiest of questions.

I had no idea what a gerude was after googling it its so ruddy simple its upsetting:(

I think what trips people up on tests like that is the use of large words like prepositional. I would never use that word to describe something I was looking for nor do I remember having even heard it used in English lessons before. That was the 2nd one that got me and took some time:(

Very diffiicult as the answers are usually online, which will tempt cheating.

So far everyone seems to be very honest here though.
