Gatwick's runway has reopened after drones caused the airport to shut down for more than a day.
Causing absolute chaos for 100,000 travellers pre- Christmas.
The airport felt this was a deliberate attack to cause as much upset to travel arrangements.
Airport authorities even called the army..
The last confirmed sighting of any drone was at 10 pm last night

It's pretty ridiculous really. Heathrow has all the drone detecting equipment that Gatwick hasn't.
As @viridis said 'No GPS controlled drone can get anywhere near an airport'

Which I think we will see more and more of sadly.
Not one picture of the drone at Gatwick, nor Heathrow.
Already reported at Gatwick that the drone in question was, more than likely, a police surveillance drone.
I just think that people now know how quickly you can bring an airport to a standstill, there will be more and more calls about so called drones.
