Thought I would start off a thread, bit of friendly banter not too heavy and an opportunity to express your ideas about your favourite team.

What are you hoping for in the January transfer market?

As a Liverpool fan I am hoping for cover for Mane and the front 3.

Arsenal were terrible, but fair play to Brentford they were very good. I don't know where Arsenal go from here, we are in absolute disarray. It's shocking.

I'd put it down to being first match in the Premier League excitement for Brentford. They definitely took advantage - blatant penalty in the first half that wasn't given and surprised the ref or linesman didn't spot the holding back of the goalie for the second goal. Or maybe VAR is not going to be used that much. Saying that, given Arsenal didn't cover and Brentford would have scored anyway. At times, Arsenal were pretty good in moving quickly but the lack of a striker showed. Rather the barndoor needs lot more target practice. I'll give them a few more games given its quite a young team but Arteta may not be there by November.

I think though Brentford are going to struggle around Christmas when all the teams have figured them out especially with their party piece of a long throw in. Against Chelsea, it will be a case of how many Lukaku won't score.

When I went to school that was a blatant foul on the Arsenal goalkeeper but hey, didn't overly bother me

Very much enjoyed the lunch time game though....soccersoccersoccer

put it down to being first match in the Premier League (season)

I'm using that excuse for Leeds too. Over 50% possession but gaping holes at the back. We lost a lot of loanees over the summer & they've not been replaced. It's going to be a tough one this year.

After watching Match of the Day:

Leeds letting in 5 on the first day was a bit of a shocker and could be a portent of things to come. The current bottom three all look like relegation favourites to me, If Norwich stay up I will eat my hat.

Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea all look solid and back to form. Can't see Arsenal getting out of the bottom half this season. And Spurs beating Man City after spending 100 mil on a striker while Spurs have their 100 mil player missing... The irony.

AND - Somebody at the Arsenal get that Gooner Vieira back down the Emirates Stadium!
