The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.
The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.
The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

That's awful @pgn.
However as a retired nurse, I would certainly be looking at my infection control measures within that specific hospital. If staff have full PPE and deal with it and patients properly, then that number is very poor.
I'm really not being facetious here but Cov19 is an infection, the like of which we have never seen before. I would expect that sort of figure back in March when we had NO idea what we were dealing with and running around like headless chickens.
I wouldn't expect those sort of figures now when we are far more educated and prepared.

Thanks China
I see a Chinese businessman has paid 1.4 million for a pigeon yesterday.
Apparently that country now takes pigeon racing very seriously. Stand back for another outbreak of bird flu to hit soon!!

You're talking about humans @Cleoriff
Here people are demonstrating against masks. Aswell as comparing the newly released infection-law to a law back from Hitler's time. So no wondering about the stupidity of people - sadly

No @ComaChameleon I'm talking about hospital staff (NOT the general public). The article @pgn posted was talking about a hospital closure due to nursing and medical staff contracting Covid.
Those figures shouldn't be that high as staff are now trained far better than they were in March. It seems to me, without any insider knowledge of the hospital practices and procedures, that complacency has occured somewhere.

We have and had the same problems here @Cleoriff - but because the ppe isn't the best in the hospitals. They mostly use normal masks instead of FFP2/3. From 8 hospitals in our city 3 were closed the same time because of staff-infection.
And it's a view in many hospitals... I changed to IC-transport (so ICU to ICU or plane - ICU) - so I see many different cities, the small town hospitals aswell as huge university clinics.
Most of them now changed to covid-wards, no mix of staff... Others (small ones) only have one or maybe two boxes for covid.

We have Covid wards here as well @ComaChameleon (though not sure about Ireland, Wales and Scotland).
We also have specially converted nightingale wards.
We have patients going into hospitals with a certain conditions and then contracting Covid whilst in hospital.
We have full PPE with staff wearing masks and plastic halo protection.
All I can say is, I'm pleased I am no longer nursing. I did 45 years for Queen and Country (lol). Lived through and 'conquered' MRSA (which in the early 80's was the worst infection in the UK)
Staff who are working with Covid have my utmost admiration, although I repeat, there is no excuse for complacency from anyone working in the NHS.

It's weird coming into the ward, we have to completely wear ppe (overall, shoe-slipper, 2 pairs of gloves, hood, ffp2/3 mask, goggles and/or faceshield)... What does the nurse wear? ffp 2 mask and a gown + gloves.
Is the problem really the staff being complacent or not getting the ppe from the employer?
We had the same problem here, my old employer only gave us masks, even ffp2 was recommended.
I had a chat with one of our doctors, she (was working for health office for some years now) didn't even know there is already 4 MRGN now, she only knew 3 MRGN from back then.
We are happy not. having someone with MRSA/3or4 MRGN now... It's so common... 😕
