Some time ago Cleoriff detailed (bullit point style) how to do the above ..... which I could follow
I can't find the post, despite using the Search O2 Community facility
I just thought if perhaps Cleoriff or others could find time to do the same again for me, I'd be very grateful, & could so easily find the instructions again in the future using the subject 'Copy & Paste' in the Search O2 Community facility
thank you

am trying to copy & paste an image of Kevin Kostner onto the forum
but can't seem to 'drop a cursor' or as how described above ^ ^ ^ place a flashing cursor where I want to place image
why can't I seem to grasp this technique

There might be a Kevin Kostner filter being applied 😉
Vi is a text editor. Well, probably the most hated thing you'll ever encounter on the command line in linux/unix to edit a file but then when you learn a few things its one of the things you can never do without. Its all driven by key presses in certain order (see this link) and at times obscure but its usually the only thing you have if you work with linux command line and need to do edit a script with a typo.
Not as complex and unreadable as sed using regexp though (at this point, running away screaming would be a good idea which is what I normally do when looking at a problem that uses it).

@Anonymous
If you want to post a picture of Kevin Costner quickly on here..... do this..
* Google an image of Kevin Costner
* when you find one you want... hold your mouse over the image and right click the mouse
* A number of options will appear... Click on 'Copy Image' (thats it it will be copied)
* Go to where you want to paste it
* Right click mouse again and select paste
And there you have it...a lovely Copy and Pasted image of the Costner
NB: If you get a highlighted error message when you try to post.....ignore it and press post again
And voila

We don't @sheepdog but Jane has been trying to copy and paste pictures to the forum for some time....so she is asking how to do it....(Me? I would have preferred Johnny Depp...but if Jane wants a bit of Costner...then she will have it)
