Been a long time since my cats needed any vet treatment but yesterday one developed a lump on her neck so we rang for an appointment. Asked to pay the £65 consultation fee upfront. Luckily the lump was caused by a blocked lymph gland (post infection) so required antibiotic injection. Total cost of 5 minute appointment?

£98!!

The Vet said, Lily could do with some dental treatment;. How much? asked my other half.

£600-£800 was the reply!! (I don't think we'll be bothering with that!) 😖🙄

Whether @Cleoriff for people or animals, dentistry seems to be a licence to print money ! 👍

Seems vets have cottoned on to "insurance" - 3 x the price for annual checkup this year for a large dog, compared to 2 years ago 😩

Following the US model for healthcare costs... 😱

@pgn

Add to that, some animal insurance premiums are increasing annually. They have stopped including a lot of conditions (including dental issues)

OR

The excess has increased to such an extent, it becomes pointless submitting a claim!
