US singer Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first songwriter to win the prestigious award.
The 75-year-old rock legend received the prize "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition".
I grew up listening to his words and music...so for me, this is a well deserved accolade .

Well-deserved and good spot @Cleoriff.
'The Times They Are-a-Changing' (if that even the right title?!) is one of my favourite ever songs.

You only had to listen to his song lyrics in the late 60s and 70s to realise the poignancy behind them. I was probably one of his greatest fans and his protest songs especially about the ridiculous Vietnam war were an inspiration to my generation whether American or British.
Not many artists are instantly referred to in a singular name, Dylan, Bowie, Lennon, McCartney, Jagger to name but a few. Awesome talent!
So many artists have covered his songs but this is one of my all-time favourites. A story in itself about an American boxer wrongfully accused of murder. Listen to the lyrics....
