Yes, @dgilbert2 we've also given you Halloween: you've always had All Hallows Eve but now you're kids go out trick or treating joy

In addition to Mothering Sunday (now called Mother's Day, from us I expect) you now have Father's Day. Only fair I suppose Don't know

And let's not forget we given you many new words to ponder. What's the saying, 2 countries separated by a common language joy

And finally we given you a President that many Brits hate more than Theresa May, not to mention many of my my fellow countrymen.

What can I say, we're a generous bunch LOL

Sales are on all the time now. Retailers don't give a damn tho.  They know people aren't taken in by it anymore (well, most intelligent people anyway), but they still do it anyway.  The advertising standards authority should step in really.  You cannot advertise a sales as being on a specific day, if they then proceed to start the sale early, make it last a week after, and then start sending out shedloads of spam after it saying it's been extended.

It's false advertising as 50% of the stock supposedly in the sale, is never sold at the supposed RRP.  So is the RRP made up just to make you think it's cheaper in a sale?  Are manufacturers working with the retailer to deliberately over-inflate the RRP?  Absoltely in my opinion.

Just be honest and say how much something is really worth.

Thanks

Steve

Although in defence of Black Friday and depending on what you are looking for, there ARE some good deals to be had.

Last year I bought a smartphone and smartwatch and paid considerably less as I bought them together.

I also know CPW had some really good deals on phones and tariffs. Sadly that ended last night.

My eldest bought a 42in TV for half price yesterday....

Yes. I just caught the end of their Black Friday offers.
iPhone XR on Voda with 100gb of data, unlimited calls and texts for £36/mo.
Could not get anywhere near that deal anywhere else on any network wink
The same deal on O2 is £70/mo tongue
