as a follow-up to the above mentioned radio programme which I listened to earlier this evening:

'Smart Society' 

smart fabric wristbands for fitness fanatics + health monitoring to your doctor + soldier/military applications (where the funding is, according to one of Evan Davies' 3 guests) who was responsible for developing the fabric, which can be washed in a machine

'the internet of things'

if your appetite has been whetted ..... = ..... the programme can be downloaded off the internet
