I know a couple of users at work that would no doubt like one of those.
for it to be any use though the O/S and the software have to be written to balance the load equally across the cores.

Just been pricing up my desired spac for my next PC (I tend to get them built to save me the hassle of testing and RMAing components)
I'm probably looking about 2 grand.

Been building PC's on and off over the last 15 years and never had a single component failure on build. Which is surprising as I don't exactly take ESD precautions considering my background in building computers.
Saying that, the last build I did put me off building one again. Intel LGA1150 and a bent pin in the socket nearly cost me a lot of money without the help of a magnifying glass and a sewing needle!
Next time round, it will be more of a top end graphics card or two and lots of memory coupled to a big monitor rather than a high spec cpu.
